Basic First aid

This non-accredited information session teaches the skills and knowledge required to recognise emergencies and provide immediate and effective first aid treatment to any person suffering a sudden illness or injury.

  • This course is ideal for families.
  • Topics covered include but are not limited to CPR and using an AED, administering an autoinjector for anaphylaxis, administering asthma medication, assisting someone choking, using appropriate immobilisation techniques for envenomation, fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains, managing casualties with non-life-threatening bleeding and shock.

Administer CPR

This non-accredited information session teaches the skills and knowledge required to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. It applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

  • This course is ideal for families, community and workplace settings.
  • Learn how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), how to rotate first aiders with minimal interruptions to compressions, and what to do if the casualty regurgitates or vomits.
